Week 71: Campfire without fire or camping

Hello everyone! Not a whole lot happened this week, so this'll probably be pretty short. We've been doing a fair amount of knocking this week trying to build up our teaching pool.

One of the biggest things that happened this week was we got our transfer calls this Saturday, and Elder Parker and I will be staying, and we'll be getting Elder Kelsall (another Samoan) and Elder Kirkland (another one of my previous companions). Elder Thacker will be finishing his mission and returning to Utah.

After transfer calls and lunch with the zone at Red Robin the same day, we went on exchanges with some other elders in our district. I got to be on bike for a day with Elder Loader, and it was probably one of the funnest days I've had in a while. Unfortunately, I was unprepared. Things didn't go as planned for me so I was able to be properly dressed to stay warm, and I was missing a few other things. However, it didn't rain at all and we were able to have some pretty good lessons. The last lesson was supposed to be at a members home, however the member was a single woman, and we couldn't get another adult male to accompany us, so we sat outside in her garage in camping chairs. She brought a friend who was inactive, and we were able to have an amazing lesson. Because of the circumstances we were in it felt like we were sitting around a campfire making s'mores. But instead of a fire there was just the cold and we had chocolate covered pretzels instead of s'mores. It was kind of funny for me since a couple days before I was just talking to my companions about how I missed camping.

That's all for this week though. Love you!
-Elder Smith
